Naropa Community Counseling Closing Announcement
April 1, 2026
Naropa Community Counseling Center, its clinicians, student interns, and staff, regret to inform you that NCC will no longer be providing mental health services to the community after May 29, 2026. It has been our great pleasure to serve the members of the community since 2015, but due to economic circumstances beyond our control, the time has come to close our clinic.
We are providing this notice to you to inform you that we will no longer be able to provide you with counseling or other mental health services after May 29, 2026.
Between now and May 29, 2026, we remain committed to your mental wellness and will continue to provide counseling in accordance with our past practices, but we encourage you to begin the process of identifying a subsequent provider to provide counseling services as soon as possible. To that end, attached to this letter is a list of other counseling centers in the Boulder community that offer low-income mental health services on a sliding-fee scale, and/or that accept Medicaid and other insurance. This list does not include all providers and we encourage you to look beyond this list, if appropriate, to locate a provider with whom you are comfortable and who provides the counseling services you are seeking. If you need support in this process, please let your counselor know, and they can help you explore options for future counseling.
NCC will continue to provide most clients with counseling through May 8, 2026 or until you locate a new provider. In the event you identify a new provider prior to May 8, 2026, NCC is happy to offer a transition session either independently or in collaboration with your new provider.
NCC will make your records available to your new provider upon receipt of written authorization from you. We recommend you make any request for records prior to June 1, 2026 in order to assure all requests are fulfilled promptly. You may request a copy of your mental health record by making a written request to our office at counselingclinic@naropa.edu or by calling (303) 546-3589. We will continue to maintain your records for a period of seven (7) years from the date of your termination of counseling services.
It has been our pleasure to serve you at the Naropa Community Counseling Center. Please do not hesitate to reach out to your individual counselor or our office with any questions or concerns you may have.
Sincerely,
Naropa University
